Odds and Ends

I was at Walmart yesterday and I actually bought a game off the shelf that I had never heard of before. Sacred. Ever heard of it before? It was only 10 bucks so I figured what the heck, if it sucks I can make my 10 bucks back or close to that by selling it. Its a Diablo-style RPG. I loaded it up and played for a few minutes, and died quickly. :-) I'll try it again later after I finish up some other games. But its a pretty rare occurance for me to buy a game on a whim like that.

To that end (finishing up other games) I don't think I am ever going to finish KOTOR. After looking at a walkthrough I see how long this game actually is... and its just not fun enough. But I think this time, instead of uninstalling it I will keep it loaded and play once a month or something, and maybe one day in the distant future I will finish it. Esp. with the 360 in the picture now it will make it more difficult to play KOTOR.

On the PC front I am really looking forward to a game called Keepsake. I am an old school adventurer by trade. This one looks to be really reminiscent of the old Sierra King's Quest days, of course updated for the new millenium. You can check out a trailer here, but the game is out in a few days anyways. I'll be sure to post my impressions, because this one's getting the pre-order!

Game development blog

If you are at all interested in game development and all that goes with it, you might want to check out this Game Development blog run by my good friend Austin. He is a newly hired employee at Treyarch and it is his first job in the biz so he has the perspective of a newb in the gaming industry. Lots of good recommendations for reading as well.

Knee deep in Kameo, and other XBox goodies

Is anyone else playing Kameo? I have found it to be quite immersive, lots of varying levels and characters to talk to and upgrades to be had. I am worried though, I am at the point where I have all the Elementals and am going to face Thorn - I feel like this is going to be an exercise of "cycle through elementals until you find one that works" during each stage leading up to Thorn, which will make for a lackluster ending.

Also I realized that I hardly got any Elemental Fruits. I'm sure they are all over the place yet I only upgraded a few of my Elementals' powers. I thought they would just be along the way but I guess some more searching is in order, if I feel like it.

Also playing PGR3, but not a whole lot yet. I got up on Live for the first time to play against a buddy, that was pretty cool. The wireless controller/headset worked flawlessly to my surprise.

Since I never had an XBox I picked up Outlaw Golf 2 (XBox title). I really am having a blast with this one! I never thought I would enjoy golf so much but the wacky characters and lacy undergarments (tee hee) make for an appealing golf game! I also picked up Alias even though it had not-so-good reviews, just because I am a hardcore fan of the series. Haven't loaded that one up yet though. We'll see if it was worth the $5.55 I payed at Blockbuster to buy it.
